Hello Seahousers, this is your increasingly irregular newsletter from your local independent record label, based in Barrow-in-Furness, UK.
PaZz - Same Chords: Different Order.
The fourth PaZz album is released on Friday 24th October and, despite its tongue-in-cheek title, shows the band exploring new ground. The beautiful Like You Do is an undeniably great love song, showing the band’s more emotional side. Methadone recalls 80s synth pop, while She Slept is propelled by a gorgeous dirty bassline and the catchiest of choruses. Throughout though, this IS still PaZz: the inescapable Manchester influence, terrific production and songwriting chops from a band who are fully in control of their journey.
Also happening on Friday 24th, Jonny Swift plays a support slot at Barrow Underground Music Society, along with TV Face and Dragged Up.
Further information can be found on the BUMS WEBSITE
It’s a busy weekend at BUMS: on Sunday 26th October Mark Docherty is playing a support slot there, this time New York Goth Folk Cabaret act Charming Disaster are the headliners. Mark’s recent EP Dumb Love Cliches will no doubt be represented here, and its dark sound will suit the night well.

Thank you to everyone who attended the recent events at our own new venue The Seahouse. We enjoyed a poetry book launch night, with live poetry bookended by fantastic sets from Sylanna and Jamie Bosanko, and last Saturday we did our part for Barrow Music Weekender with live sets from Brass & Blaise, Prater Monks, Psyklones, and The AeroBees. Each of them were celebrating new releases….
Brass & Blaise: Wanna Be Witches
Prater Monks: Calm The River
The AeroBees: What Do You Think About?
Psyklones: Ballet Of Sniper’s Alley (album)
You can listen to the latest Seahouse Podcast all about Barrow Music Weekender, which includes music from all the new releases above.
We can’t mention Barrow Music Week without mentioning Furness Country. This event was organised by members of, and featured, Sugarfoot and Pearl & The Piano and was held at the wonderful Barrow Town Hall venue, a very special place in our town that we hope will be used for all sorts of live music events. I hear there’s plans for Furness Country 2….
We really have been busy, and we will be back next month with news of more new releases and live events and Seahouse updates.
In the meantime, thank you all for your continued support, and please keep listening and attending live music shows, wherever you are!
Stay safe, the Seahouse crew. xx
