Alrighty then! Week one is done, we're back in the new school year, roles have been established, boundaries are being pushed, and somehow summer has returned. I have it on good authority that "it'll be like this 'til Halloween". Good job, cos vampires really don't like the sunlight (unless it's reflected off the moon, then they're ok with that).
Look at Lego Grant Curnow. Isn't he adorable? He stars on the cover of the new single and also in the video for 'Song For My Parallel Self' which is released today.
We had fun recording this one. It was my first time recording a Stylophone, and the addition of fretless bass and cymbals to Grant's guitar and vocals makes for another unique audio experience!
Ace video here , a stop-motion toy character feast, made by Grant himself. Enjoy!
That Jonny Swift is back again. This instrumental track was featured on our Seahouse Mixtape album release last week, and Jonny has decided to release it as a single, which you can pre-save on the Spotify here.
This afternoon Jonny and I are out and about filming a video for the single. Hopefully we won't get arrested, and we also hope to have it ready in time for the single release next Friday, 15th September. Best MM flavour?
Bee? Beer? Beef? Nah, it's pickled onion!
Last call for our Headspace event which happens this Sunday, 2pm. This is a free event brought to you in association with BarrowFull, and hosted at Women's Community Matters at The Nan Tait Centre in Barrow. All are welcome, but we should point out that it's probably not suitable subject matter for younger kids.
Mark from Prater Monks, Jamie Bosanko, Jonny Swift and me (Emker Cel) will be presenting live music and discussion about the links between music and mental health, whilst showing an insight into our songwriting.
There will also be opportunities to have a chat during the break and afterwards, when we will be serving complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits. Well, our Deb will. She makes the best brews in town, and also knows a thing or two about long-range weather forecasts and police station breakfasts.
What else can we say? not much for now, except to look out for the third and final newsletter of September where we will have news of the new Emker Cel album, a new Prater Monks single, a new Insula single, and some new live music events featuring many of our artists in Barrow Music Week.
Until that time, thank you for your unwavering support, and we hope you continue to enjoy our music, and maybe see you Sunday?

It's already better than OK in Seahouse world. And hopefully this digest will explain why, in a way that is equal parts informative, entertaining, confused, and fully inclusive.
