Pete's "Both Kinds Of Music" Gets Digital Release on Seahouse Records
We're excited to announce that Seahouse Records is bringing a hidden gem to digital platforms for the very first time – Pete's instrumental masterpiece "Both Kinds Of Music"!
This remarkable album was recorded back in 1998 on 16-track analogue equipment, following Pete's impressive win in the Guitarist Magazine "Guitarist of the Year" competition. The album's opening track, "Latin Doll," was specifically written for that competition – showcasing the virtuosic playing that earned him this prestigious title.
"Both Kinds Of Music" is a diverse collection that demonstrates Pete's incredible versatility as a musician. Each track was carefully crafted to reflect different musical styles, taking listeners on a journey through blues, rock, fusion, and jazz. The result is an album that displays not just technical skill, but a deep understanding and appreciation of multiple musical traditions.
Almost entirely instrumental (with just one vocal track), the album features Pete playing all guitar parts throughout, as well as handling bass and keyboard duties on most tracks. The remaining instrumental parts were performed by talented local musicians, including drummer Grant Aspinall, who contributed the composition "Soliloquy" to the album.
After more than two decades, Seahouse Records is proud to make this incredible album available online for the first time. Whether you're a guitar enthusiast, a lover of instrumental music, or simply appreciate expertly crafted compositions across various genres, "Both Kinds Of Music" offers something special.
